How to use it
Tick the things you look after: house, heating, vehicle and more. Questions appear only for the ones you pick.
Answer the questions about climate, heating, driving and age. The task list updates as you go.
Edit any task name or interval, add your own tasks, and press Mark done when a job is finished.
Check the Month and Year views, then print the checklist or download a calendar file.
Examples
A first-time homeowner in a cold climate
Tick House, Heating and Yard, set the climate to cold winters and the heating to a gas furnace. You get alarm tests, gutter cleaning in spring and fall, a filter reminder, a fall heating service and a fall reminder to winterize outdoor taps. Add a Vehicle and the seasonal tire changes appear too.
An apartment renter
Tick Apartment only. You keep the short list that is usually yours to handle: alarm tests, alarm batteries and the dryer vent. Add custom tasks for anything else, such as a monthly reminder to check under the sink.
A family with a pool and two cars
Tick House, Pool and Vehicle, then add a second vehicle as a custom task. Choose a seasonal pool for opening and closing reminders, or year-round for water testing only. Print the year overview and stick it on the fridge.
Frequently asked questions
How often should I change my furnace filter?
The schedule suggests every 3 months for a furnace and every 2 months for a heat pump, as a general starting point. Filter type, pets, dust and how much the system runs all change this, so check the manufacturer's instructions for your equipment and edit the interval to match.
When should I clean my gutters?
Many homes benefit from a clean in spring and again in fall, after most leaves have dropped. Heavy tree cover may call for more often. If you are not comfortable on a ladder, hire a professional.
Do these intervals fit any equipment?
No. They are general guidelines, not brand- or model-specific. Your manual, warranty and local codes come first. Edit any interval to match them.
How are hemisphere and seasons handled?
Seasonal tasks such as "every fall" are placed in a month based on your hemisphere. Change the hemisphere and fall tasks move to the months that are autumn where you live.
Is my information stored?
The schedule is saved in your browser on this device so it is still there when you come back. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no personal data to enter. Press "Start with an empty form" to clear it.
Does it replace a professional inspection?
No. It is a reminder list. Gas appliances, electrical work and structural or roof problems belong with a qualified professional, and local safety rules apply.
What does Mark done do?
It records today as the last time you did the task and moves its next due date forward by its interval.
